Announcements
What announcements are for
Section titled “What announcements are for”Announcements are the structured communication channel in Sicket.
They are used for:
- planned maintenance notices
- urgent updates
- building-wide communication
- general organization updates
Announcements can be:
- organization-wide
- building-specific
This lets staff publish broadly when needed while still keeping building communication targeted.
Audience
Section titled “Audience”Announcements can also be controlled by audience rules, such as tenant visibility.
This supports cases where some communication is intended for residents, while other messages are more operational.
Lifecycle
Section titled “Lifecycle”Announcements can be:
- drafted
- published
- unpublished
They can also have scheduling-related fields such as start and end times or pinned periods.
Why announcements are separate from tickets
Section titled “Why announcements are separate from tickets”Tickets are about operational issues and issue resolution.
Announcements are about broadcast communication.
Keeping those separate avoids turning the ticket system into a general communications feed.
